The study, conducted by Search Metrics, has shown that Google +1’s are the most important element in SEO so far in 2013. It won’t come as a surprise to many that Google will favour content endorsed via its very own social platform (in the form of Google Plus), but how does it compare to other SEO metrics?

The basic’s of what ranking is all related to how every website in a search engine index (found by crawlers) are categorised based on the the algorithms that are used by search engines which rank websites by subject and relevance.

Google’s social network ‘Google+’, has seen a remarkable growth spurt over the past twelve months which has resulted in an even bigger membership growth, as well as a direct effect on search results, not to mention a high number of ‘plus ones’ for URLs placed at the top of Google’s rankings.
