Apple show off their latest app capabilities after Samsung poked fun at brand
Apple have had a god-like complex regarding their brand identity for quite some time and lately that has been dented by arch nemesis, Samsung, who are hot on the heels of the iOS giant have recently held the spotlight as the consumers favourite with a global sales increase of 54% in the last quarter of 2013.
Samsung recently launched their touch-in-cheek ad which poked fun at what has been dubbed by the media as ‘Apple Disciples’. Samsung has recently stolen Apple’s technological limelight following unit sales that have more than doubled in 2012, their busiest time being the Christmas period.
The Samsung Galaxy S3 sold 18 million models globally in Q4 of 2012 compared to Apple’s 16.2 million sales making the Galaxy S3 the most popular handset of 2012.
Apple’s respone to the ad was… nothing. Their latest TV ad’s completely ignore the fun poked at them by Samsung and Apple have instead opted to show off their capabilities with two new apps. The response being typical of Apple shows the luxury feel of their handsets and tablet devices, appealing to the die-hard fans who take brand loyalty to the next level.
