Yesterday Instagram announced it was to share all user data with Facebook as well as sharing images with it’s Marketing department.
If you’ve been reading the news recently, you will have heard about Instagram’s new policy changes to user’s copyright over photos and supposed plans for those photos to be used in future marketing campaigns.
So if you’ve been left doubting Instagram’s integrity and you are now looking for the next “big thing” in photo sharing, then look no further because Jungle have five new and free alternatives for you.

1. Streamzoo
Streamzoo is a pretty neat little app as not only does it let you follow users (@) in the same way as Twitter but you can also follow subjects using a hashtag (#) in exactly the same way as you would on Twitter. Streamzoo also incorporates a badge and reward system to encourage participation in the community.
You can choose from 20 filters, 15 borders and six crop shapes (much like Instagram), then share on Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr or Flickr.
Platform: Android and iOS
2. Camera Awesome
For those eager snappers who sometimes feel like your photos just aren’t awesome enough, may we present ‘Camera Awesome’. An intuitive clever little app which packs in the features, including nearly 300 effects, filters and editing tools.
You can share your awesome pictures across Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, Flickr and even Instagram! Or you can let the app’s auto-share feature do all the work for you.
Platform: Camera Awesome is currently only available to iOS users, so all the keen Android owners will have to wait patiently until they release an Android-friendly version.
3. Hipster
Hipster is our personal favourite and with good reason too! Hipster really crams in the features while looking beautiful at the same time. Besides an impressive URL grab, Hipster boasts a unique integration of text and a nifty little thing called ‘geotagging’ that lets you create virtual postcards to share on Facebook and Twitter, how cool is that!/
And it doesn’t stop there as you can tag friends or add date and place names to your images for a personal touch.
Platform: Hipster is iOS and Android-friendly so download it today, you will not be left disappointed!
4. Snapseed
With an intuitive gesture interface, Snapseed gives you all the power you will need to saturate and tilt shift your photos, or if you’re feeling adventurous you can play around with filters and frames. As it is now part of Google, the app also offers sharing through Google+.
Platform: Snapseed is available for iOS and Android
5. Pxlr-o-matic
No we haven’t made a spelling mistake, the app is actually called Pxlr-o-matic. If you can’t get the right combination of effects to personalize your photos then look no further, Pxlr-o-matic allows you to randomize filters, borders and sweet overlays.
When you’re done playing around with all the cool effects you can share on Facebook, DropBox, iTunes, Flickr or through email. And the fun doesn’t stop there, if you try the app and fall in love (which you probably will), there’s the PLUS version with even more options!.
